To add a WordPress Post, first, log into your website and you will be in your dashboard area. Click on Posts on the left column and on the flyout click Add New. (Click here for the video version of how to add a WordPress Post.)

Now you will be on the “Add New Post” page and in the middle of it all is what we called a WYSIWYG text editor.

You can see a bar (2A), which is similar to Microsoft word. You can highlight your text and click bold or you can italicize, strike through, unordered list, order list, you can also right justified, center, left justified, add upload (2B) image files, and videos. That is the main function of the text editor.

Also currently, you are in the visual editor but you have to option to click on the HTML editor if you need to paste in some sort of code or you prefer to write in HTML. For example, if you need to insert a YouTube video you can click on HTML tap and paste the embed code.The All in One SEO Pack (3) is where you can set the Search Engine information for the page.

Then on the right-hand column. First up is Tags (4). These are indexable or keywords for your post. Next, is Categories (5) you can see if there are no categories that you like you can always add a new category by clicking on the Add New Category link.

Wait a few seconds for the website to update itself and then you should see at the top of the page a link called view post. Click on it to see your new post on your website and at anytime you may come back to edit, modify the same post or even delete it.
