Why Local SEO For Medford Oregon Business Owners:

So why is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) so important to a Medford Oregon business?  Well it begins with over 40% of consumers won’t shop at a business or brand if they can’t research you or find your business on-line.   Search Engine Optimization (SEO) allows not only for people to find you but more importantly to research you.  Instead of driving from place to place to shop we now surf the web to help with our purchasing decisions.

Need More Reasons For Local Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

  1. The first ranking position in the search results receives 42.25% of all click-through traffic
  2. The second position receives 11.94%
  3. Third position on the first page obtains 8.47%
  4. The fourth placed position on page one receives 6.05%
  5. The others on the first page are under 5% of click through traffic
  6. The first ten results (page one ) received 89.71% of all click-through traffic,
  7. The next 10 results (normally listed on the second page of results) received 4.37%
  8. Third page receives a total  of 2.42 %
  9. The fifth page receives a total of only 1.07%
  10. All other pages of results received less than 1% of total search traffic clicks.

Google searches are much like the Yellow Pages of old.  If I know of a particular Medford Oregon business then I would typically have looked in the White Pages and searched for that particular business.  That would be no different today, people just enter your business name in the Google box.

When we didn’t know the name of a Medford or Southern Oregon business we were looking for we just looked in the Yellow Pages for that category.  We would then see a laundry list of Medford and Southern Oregon businesses from that category.

36% of search engine users believe that the companies whose websites are returned at the top of the search results are the top brands in their field

70% of people have used the internet to find a local business in the last 12 months

67% of local consumers have consulted online customer reviews of local businesses

69% of local consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations

Female consumers are more likely to select a local business that has positive customer reviews

Local SEO Becoming More Important:

The numbers of ‘local’ searches are only going to increase.  Mobile search, on-line reviews, reputation management it becomes more important every day.  The good news is that if you’re a Medford or Southern Oregon Business owner you’re far from being out of the SEO game, in most circumstances, today you would still be ahead of the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) game.

My wife and I own a local gym in New York and I’ve been fortunate enough to have the time to teach myself a lot of basic SEO over the last couple of years. As a result our gym’s page is ranked #1 in Google for the 3 major local search terms and has gotten us a ton of traffic and business because of it. Ultimately we have been able to compete and profit in a pretty competitive market with some very established and big players largely in part due to the position we hold in the major search engines.

I only learned SEO from reading blogs and watching videos. What you’ve said here is a little different from what I’ve learned. But somehow, I find it interesting. I want to consider your info and maybe the 30 mins free consultation.

This is very informative and this a new learning to my SEO reading sessions. Aside from great testimonials of SEO experts, we need also to know the latest and effective trends on SEO. It is necessary also to know the statistics of customer reviews.

Mobile search will play an increasingly important role, the new iPhones Siri technology will become commonplace across smartphones. Siri pulls its data from Yelp so anyone interested in getting picked up for local mobile searches should make sure that they list their details there as well as google places and bing local (which will likely be the source for windows smartphones)

Seo is good indeed, but mostly people that are using seo to bring traffic to their websites are overusing the benefits of search engine. Some of them are spamming submission websites which is bad to search engine and can cause of website penalization in search engine. It is important and highly recommended that we all do the ethical technique and follow the rules of search engine in order to come up with good results. Good luck guys. ^^

I recently published a chart on similar stats for positioning. It really makes a massive difference, first page results are not that great if you are #5 or worse.
