The ‘Old Wood House’ is the most photographed house in the State of Oregon.  It sits right here in the small town that we live in Eagle Point.  The house was built in circa 1870 and is kept in its original condition.  It does some promotions throughout the year, and is overseen the wood house preservation group, which is a husband and wife volunteer team.

It’s easy to feel the passion of the house through the Geear’s, who are the Preservation Group.  They spend countless hours with the upkeep of the house as well as organizing the events and fending off the predators of the house, which of course is progress.

We wondered why the house, being the most photographed house in Oregon, didn’t have a website.  Well with an operating budget of $1,600 a year I guess a website isn’t going to be first and foremost.  Understanding how important stories and history is we decided to volunteer our services to the Wood House Preservation Group to build a website.

A website that could tell the stories of the house to the web 2.0 world.  That could be a vessel of information for those who search for what to do or what to see during their visit to Southern Oregon.  For all the cars that have passed the old house on their way to Crater Lake and opportunity to look back and see what it is that they missed.

A platform to gather e-mail list to make individuals aware of the events that take place as well as an opportunity for who have a passion for history the chance to donate.

I hope that as you look to see what we did for the Old Wood House you will find that we kept the history and the integrity of a survivor, a house that has seen so much in the Rogue Valley since the 1870’s.
