Holiday Cheer
It’s that business holiday time of year, and I always look at the business holiday card as an opportunity to continue, begin, remind or thank someone for their business.
To use a simple analogy: social media messages are to holiday cards as holiday cards are to in-person/face-to-face interactions, drawing upon the sense that the holidays are less about keeping in contact, but more about keeping in touch.
It’s hard to walk into a business this time of year without seeing holiday cards organized in some fashion at the front desk/counter. The holiday card is a like direct mail piece that has a greater chance to grab the businesses attention and, gets to hang around and be displayed.
Like most people, I tend to read the holiday cards I receive, I make that note of who sent it and how nice it was to be included on their list. It is then proudly displayed. People like to display the cards they receive; it shows that a business or individual enjoys doing business with you enough to include you on their list. It also builds credibility and trust of your business. Holiday cards are a little like the on-line review before the on-line review.
For Paradux Media Group, sending cards is a little more than just going to the store to purchase some pre-packaged cards, we design our own. The perks from creating your own holiday card, are they are going to stand out a little more, and as we found out when picking our cards up from the print shop our holiday card was being proudly displayed in their window case.
Have fun with your holiday cards. Add your businesses personality, use them to touch base with vendors or clients that you haven’t talked to in a while and always add a few surprises on your list..
