St. Patrick's Day 2015First off, happy St. Patrick’s Day! We hope you’re all enjoying the annual “wearin’ o’ the GREEN.” As you can guess, we take our green seriously and are all ducked out today in our greens.

While it may not be the pot at the end of the rainbow, we were excited to see that in March, we surpassed 1,200 blog posts on our website.

When Mike and Tisha started blogging, they never imagined that ParaduxMedia.com could be host to 50 blog posts, much less 1,200 blog posts. They struggled, just as we know a lot of our readers do, with simply getting one blog post written. Then another, and another. Setting a blog publishing schedule and sticking to it.

Break it down — if you committed to blogging just once a week (at least 300 words for each blog), you would have more than 100 blog posts after two years. That’s more than 100 opportunities to have your website found for 100 different keywords. Blogging is a great way to not only share your story, but help your search results.

The reason that is critically important, is that each blog post represents one concise page of information that you can optimize for a specific keyword. And the more blog posts you have, the more blog posts you can optimize for a keyword. And the more keywords you use well, the more likely it is that you can get your website to rank in search engine results.

After all, you really don’t care if someone lands on a blog or on your home page — you want them to come to your website. Once you’ve got them there, that’s your opportunity to get them click another page to learn a little more about you and begin building a relationship with you over time.

If you have the luck of the Irish (or just a well-crafted website strategy), you might even get them to join your email list. All because you started blogging, on a set schedule, every single week.
