It’s always nice when a business wants to use their Facebook page to spread cheer among some great causes in Northern California, Central and Southern Oregon. PremierWest Bank, last week rolled out the charity challenge a voting competition between 8 non-profits in their markets.
To run a proper promotion on Facebook an outside app is needed to be purchased as it is technically a violation of Facebook terms to run the contest through Facebook.
For the Charity Challenge the goal was to highlight some great non-profit programs in the markets of PremierWest as well as create some buzz for the PremierWest Bank Facebook page, some more likes as well as call attention to these fine organizations: Central Oregon Sparrow Clubs, Strong As Steele, Shasta Family Justice Center, Living Opps, Children’s Advocacy Center of Jackson County, Wildlife Safari, Twin Lakes Food Bank, and the Red Bluff Bull & Gelding Sale
The PremierWest page had previously benefitted by being a part and donating to Extreme Makeover Home Edition and like the concept of helping others so this made sense. After selecting the non-profits, we then turned to the dates, voting rules and the prize money. To add some excitement to the causes PremierWest will be donating over $2,000 during this month long promotion.
A custom landing page promoting the challenge is the next step. Once you’ve come up with a design and placed the landing page it is game on.
As the conductor of the promotion it is your job to remind the non-profits of what is at stake and help nudge them to rally their troops. The more the troops are rallied the more buzz that is created not only with the PremierWest Facebook page but with all the non-profits that are in the competition.
It is a fantastic way to call attention to those cause that perform great work every day. Right now we’re right in the middle of the promotion which runs through December 22nd. As with most promotions it started out very strong and then they have a tendency to slow down a bit in the middle and then end with a big kick.
I would encourage you all to take just a moment of your time this holiday season and take a look at the 8 charities involved and vote for one.
