Paradux Media Group Presents “A Savvy Marketer’s Guide to Advertising” Seminar
Paradux Media Group partnered with SOU SBDC and the Oregon Employer Council to present a marketing and advertising seminar in Medford.
Paradux Media Group partnered with Southern Oregon University’s Small Business Development Center and the Oregon Employer Council to present an educational seminar titled A Savvy Marketer’s Guide to Advertising. The event was designed to provide local business owners with practical insight into marketing strategy, advertising channels, and how to make informed decisions in a crowded media landscape.
The seminar focused on helping businesses better understand how traditional and digital marketing tools can be effectively integrated. Rather than emphasizing trends or buzzwords, the presentation centered on clarity—assisting attendees to identify which channels make the most sense for their specific business goals.
Learning effective ways to attract and engage customers- Understanding traditional marketing tools such as branding, print, radio, television, and advertising collateral
- Evaluating online channels, including websites, social media, and emerging platforms
- Identifying marketing approaches that support lead generation and long-term growth
Mike Frey, co-founder of Paradux Media Group, led part of the presentation, drawing on more than 15 years of experience in marketing and advertising. His background includes working with hundreds of locally owned businesses, helping them allocate marketing dollars more effectively while focusing on tangible results.
Frey’s approach to media planning emphasizes intentional strategy over convention. By understanding audience behavior and aligning messaging across channels, businesses can often achieve stronger outcomes without increasing spend.

Co-founder Tisha Oehmen also contributed to the seminar, bringing her expertise as a professional brand strategist and author of Finding Brand: The Brand Book Tutorial. Oehmen discussed branding as a strategic foundation, emphasizing consistency, intention, and alignment between business values and outward communication.
The event took place on May 22, 2014, at the Higher Education Center in Medford, Oregon. The seminar was part of an ongoing effort by the Oregon Employer Council and SOU’s Small Business Development Center to provide accessible educational resources for local businesses.
Through partnerships like this, Paradux Media Group continues to support education and community engagement, helping business owners navigate marketing decisions with greater confidence and clarity.
