Life is all about learning; if you are not learning, you are not living. Paradux Media Group has grown immensely over the past 18 months, consistently adding new features and departments so our clients can have an all-in-one advertising agency. With the explosion of social media and all the other existing marketing possibilities, it has not been easy.
The one aspect we had not sharpened our tools for and had other services handle was SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Therefore, I decided to take on the challenge of learning more about this science. I am now in the middle of a 10-week extensive training on SEO, and I must say I am very fascinated by how the ‘game’ is played. I function better when I can see the ‘game’ or ‘competition’ involved in a process. One of the reasons I stay away from the graphic and web design we do is that I just cannot see the ‘game.’ SEO has lots of little games within the game: word density, back links, long tail keywords, low—to mid-competition keywords or high-competition keywords, link structure, content, and the list goes on… With my love for analytics and studying them daily for Paradux Media Group and our clients, I’m surprised I haven’t taken the SEO plunge. It may have to do with everything on my plate, but now that I have taken SEO, I am glad I did. Like analytics, SEO will become a daily ritual. It is like getting a new golf swing. At first, it is a bit frustrating; you feel you are wasting time, but it clicks. Once it does, you just want to keep swinging away! It is hard to get off the range or the course. It has been enjoyable digging deeper into our website and creating better SEO solutions for Paradux Media Group, including consolidating the company’s websites, Paradux Media Group, Beyond the Pond, and Finding Brand, which is why you may notice the different look. The same is confirmed for our clients, who are going deeper into their web design and content to give them more than just the essential SEO keywords they had before; they will also create a ‘real’ SEO strategy.
Continuous Learning in SEO
I am looking forward to my continued education in the ‘science’ of SEO. We must never forget that there are no experts, only experiences, and we should experience as much as possible. It is another reason why I love what I do. Working with many great small business owners with entirely different needs keeps us at Paradux Media Group always on our toes and learning.
