Paradux Media Group announced that Mike Frey and Tisha Oehmen would be presenting a breakout session at the Oregon Nonprofit Leaders Conference, held on April 23, 2012, in Medford, Oregon. The annual conference brings together nonprofit leaders from across the region to share ideas, tools, and strategies that support organizational growth and community impact.

The breakout session, titled “Choosing Your Social Media Strategy,” focused on helping nonprofit organizations make thoughtful decisions about how and where to engage on social media. With an ever-expanding list of platforms available, many nonprofits struggle to determine which channels are worth their time and limited resources.

During the session, Frey and Oehmen addressed common challenges faced by nonprofit leaders, including platform overload, inconsistent messaging, and the pressure to participate in multiple areas simultaneously. The presentation provided a practical framework for evaluating social media platforms based on audience, purpose, and capacity, rather than trends or perceived obligations.

Specific platforms discussed included Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Facebook. Attendees learned how each platform serves different communication goals, from storytelling and community engagement to awareness-building and information sharing. The session also explored the level of staffing, time, and ongoing attention required to maintain a meaningful presence on each channel.

Rather than promoting a one-size-fits-all approach, the breakout session emphasized aligning social media activity with organizational mission and existing communication efforts. Participants were encouraged to view social media as an extension of their broader outreach strategy, not a standalone tactic.

The Oregon Nonprofit Leaders Conference offers a vital platform for education and collaboration among organizations serving communities throughout the state. Paradux Media Group appreciated the opportunity to contribute to the conversation by sharing practical, experience-based guidance tailored to the unique needs of nonprofit organizations.

Mike Frey and Tisha Oehmen were pleased to engage with attendees and support nonprofit leaders as they work to strengthen their communication strategies in an increasingly digital landscape.

If you want to start social media marketing strategy then you should do Facebook or Twitter marketing although they are effective to help you promote your business and website and increase its presence in web marketing.

I’ve found that Tumblr has prooved to be too social for my tastes, if that makes sense? I just can’t justify setting one up for my father’s business because it just reminds me too much of Myspace. It’s amazing to see, despite their similarities, the difference in appearance and professionalism between Tumblr and Pinterest. I would love to know your thoughts on Pinterest vs Tumblr if you were FORCED to pick between the two.

The post looks great in the measure of short and precise description. I think the whole thing about social media strategy is clearly vivified in the post. Really excellent!
