Quick – who is your target market? Can you clearly and specifically tell someone not in your industry who your target market is? Good! Now who are your target market’s influencers? Who are Your Target Market's Influencers? Influencers are the ones who help shape opinion and who make recommendations on products and ideas for your target market. They are the people in positions of authority and high esteem. As a result, these folks are critical to you and your business. Determining where your influencers congregate is worth your time and energy. They are probably power brokers of some sort in your community. Finding someone with access to your influencers is the first step. Getting an introduction is the second. Then, it’s time to start to build your relationship with those influencers. Don’t go too fast; take your time. These individuals are used to having people ask them for things regularly. You’ll do better if you build a real relationship with them first. Then, by educating them on what you do, they will naturally start to refer to you because you are in their sphere of influence. After all, they trust you. It will take time, but it will be worthwhile for your business. Taking your time and building a quality relationship will pay off in spades. There is no fast solution here, but slow and steady will yield significant results when your influencers influence your target market to use your product.
